Databases
The Central Plains Center for BioAssessment maintains extensive lake and stream data in relational MSAccess databases. The databases available here are extracted from those databases and downloadable as MSExcel spreadsheets.
The Central Plains Center for BioAssessment and the Kansas Biological Survey are not responsible for database integrity following download. Effort has been made to insure the accuracy of the data; however, errors in the data are possible. Data is therefore provided without representation or implied or expressed warranty of accuracy for any uses beyond the specified uses expressed. Data may be corrected or updated as necessary. The CPCB would appreciate that any errors be brought to the attention of staff for evaluation and correction.
USEPA Rapid Bioassessment Protocols Appendices B & C are now available through our webpage! These are the tolerance values for the macroinvertebrates and fish in the EPA document Rapid Bioassessment Protocols for Use in Streams and Wadeable Rivers: Periphyton, Benthic Macroinvertebrates, and Fish (EPA 841-B-99-002).
CPCB has volunteered to house the Excel file version of these appendices:
Appendix B. REGIONAL TOLERANCE VALUES, FUNCTIONAL FEEDING GROUPS, AND HABIT/BEHAVIOR
ASSIGNMENTS FOR BENTHIC MACROINVERTEBRATES [.xls
file] [Notes (.doc)].
Appendix C. TOLERANCE AND TROPHIC GUILDS OF SELECTED FISH SPECIES
[.xls file] [Notes
(.doc)]
USEPA Region 7 Nutrient Criteria Databases
CPCB assembled these databases from Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, and Missouri
datasets for use by the USEPA Region 7 Technical Asistance Group (RTAG)
on Nutrient Criteria. Click

Nutrient Streams Project
From May 1999-June 2002, CPCB sampled 94 reference streams located throughout
the four states of USEPA Region 7. Click

Dissolved Oxygen Streams Project
The CPCB is conducting a multiple scale study of diel dissolved oxygen fluctuation
in wadeable streams of the Midwest. Click

Kansas TMDL Streams and Lakes Project
CPCB collected water-quality data from 42 streams (within the Lower Arkansas,
Cottonwood, Neosho, Verdigris, Cimarron, and Walnut Basins) and 4 reservoirs
(Pomona, John Redmond, Council Grove, and El Dorado Reservoirs) for possible
use in developing Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs). Click
